Merry Christmas to each of you!

My furnace went out yesterday. I did’t notice it at first, but when I started seeing my breath, I fired up the kitchen wood stove, made dinner on it and slept downstairs to keep it stoked.

What happens with these thermal hot air ignitors is that they eventually burn through and no longer make a complete circuit. When this happens, the furnace pre ignition blower comes on, you’ll hear a click for the  ignitor but it never gets hot, so the gas valve only opens for a couple seconds, nothing ignites and then it shuts off.

If you look closely, you can see where the connection broke just next to the whitish area. I replaced this with a new one and also replaced one vacuum hose ($20.00 total) and now have heat again!

It might not seem like much, but I am thankful for heat and a good sturdy home. I have plenty to eat, my mother’s health has improved, and I am blessed with good friends!

May your Christmas be as Joyous!!!
